Genital herpes, a very common disease and also one of the most difficult to live with. The shame and isolation of those who suffer it, is usually accompanied by the physical pain caused by it.

Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease that anyone who is sexually active can get.

It can be contracted by having oral, vaginal, or anal sex with a person who has the disease. It mainly affects the skin and soft mucous membranes of the genitals. In most cases, genital herpes patients remain symptom-free, but are highly prone to infecting others.

How does cannabis work?

Not all cannabinoids are effective in this case, but THC modulates the immune response and the functions of T lymphocytes to counteract virus infection. Studies indicate that THC inhibits the synthesis, maturation, and specific mechanisms of HSV-2-glycoprotein and transport

Inhibition of viral glycoproteins tends to suppress infection, as well as to reduce the immune-inflammatory response of the host.

Another study has shown that very high concentrations of THC reduce the infection of virions (infectious virus particles), without causing any effect on viral replication at lower concentrations.

Sannabis offers alternatives such as CBD hemp oils, creams or balms that have been proven effective in cases of both labial and genital herpes.
